Restylane, Restylane Fine Line and Perlane / Restylane Lyft Chicago
Restylane and Perlane (now marketed as Restylane Lyft) are fillers our Chicago office uses on the face to get rid of wrinkles, folds, and creases. Both products are made by the same company and contain more or less the same ingredients.
What is the difference between Restylane and Perlane / Restylane Lyft?
The main difference between the two is that the particle size of Perlane / Restylane Lift is larger, which makes it firmer than Restylane. Therefore, Perlane / Restylane Lyft generally used in the mid-face area. Because Perlane / Restylane Lyft is firmer it tends to last longer than Restylane. Since Restylane is softer and more pliable, is better for areas that require a softer touch, like under the eyes. Restylane can also be used to smooth and enhance lips in patients over 21 years old.
How long do Restylane and Perlane / Restylane injections last?
Restylane and Perlane / Restylane patients can expect to see improvements for anywhere from two months to a year. The length of time that results will last varies from patient to patient and also depends upon where the product was injected.
Are Restylane and Perlane / Restylane Lyft safe?
Both of these products are FDA approved and contain hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance that the body produces and uses to keep skin full and plump. Since hyaluronic acid naturally occurs in the human body, Restylane and Perlane / Restylane Lyft are very safe.
What are the after-effects of treatment with Restylane and Perlane / Restylane Lyft?
Like most other fillers, Restylane and Perlane / Restylane Lyft treatments usually cause minor redness, bruising, swelling, and occasionally itching at injection site. These symptoms are usually minor and disappear within a few days. Symptoms after injection to the lips can last up to 14 days.
